provide area residents with farm fresh milk.
Three generations later, we still offer our
customers farm fresh milk (the old-fashioned way
in glass bottles), as well as many other natural
and delicious products. After 80 years, it was
time to make some changes, and the owners Dale
and Pamela Bangma, in the spring of 2005, we
completed renovations of an existing barn to
open a new farm store and dairy barn. We now
serve premium, homemade ice cream in addition to
our regular products, and provide valley
residents with a location to enjoy t he country

3. Open mic poetry reading: "The Poets Next Door," 2-4

the reading, bring a poem that honors, parodies,
imitates, or responds to Blackstone Valley
writers like Stanley Kunitz, Elizabeth Bishop,
Charles Olson, Frank O'Hara, or Galway Kinnell.
If it was inspired by a particular poem, please
bring that as well. Or bring a favorite work by
any local poet . . . or just come and listen!
4. Local premiere of documentary film:
"Stanley's House," by award-winning filmmaker
Tobe Carey, follows 4 Woodford Street through 90
years of Worcester history and the lives of
several families: the Kunitzes, Levines, Careys,
and Stockmals. It focuses on the magic that
inspired those who lived--and now live--in
Stanley's House. The film will be screened
continuously on Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm.
Story: Discover how literature and art celebrates
connections between people and their
environment! As you tour Kunitz's lovingly
restored childhood home, compare the house and
garden to the poems that he later wrote about
them. Meanwhile, a photographic exhibit situates
Kunitz, late in life, in the Provincetown garden
that inspired many of his other poems. A show of
paintings by two contemporary artists explores
people's relationship with Worcester. Finally,
an open mic poetry reading traces the rich
intergenerational connections among poets who
happen to have lived in the se neighborhood:
the Blackstone Valley.

An illustrated talk by Pastor Emeritus
Jeffrey Brooke-Stewart on the life and
involvement of Pastor A.H. Morrell in Chepachet
(1881 - 1886) along with period gospel hymns
sung by those attending and accompanied by
Marilyn Knight, Church Organist.
Rev. Morrell's diary provided a fascinating
snap-shot of the Chepachet church and village
life in 1882, Further research by Jeff
Brooke-Stewart, uncovered the enormous impact
that Rev. Morrell and colleagues and indeed the
entire New England Free Will Baptists had upon
the outcome of the Civil War as they believed
that the practice of one man owning another, and
the behavior of breaking up families by selling
family members was fundamentally wrong and that
the nation had a responsibility to stop the
practice, and that society as a whole, had a
responsibility to provide education for the
freed people. Brooke-Stewart will tell the broad
story of Rev. Morell and the Free Will Baptist's
association with emancipation. During the
presentation, many local residents will find
references to their ancestors.
