4. Local premiere of documentary film: "Stanley's House," by award-winning filmmaker Tobe Carey, follows 4 Woodford Street through 90 years of Worcester history and the lives of several families: the Kunitzes, Levines, Careys, and Stockmals. As you tour Kunitz's lovingly restored childhood home, compare the house and garden to the poems that he later wrote about them. Meanwhile, a photographic exhibit situates Kunitz, late in life, in the Provincetown garden that inspired many of his other poems. An illustrated talk by Pastor Emeritus Jeffrey Brooke-Stewart on the life and involvement of Pastor A.H. Morrell in Chepachet (1881 - 1886) along with period gospel hymns sung by those attending and accompanied by Marilyn Knight, Church Organist.

Rev. Morrell's diary provided a fascinating snap-shot of the Chepachet church and village life in 1882, Further research by Jeff Brooke-Stewart, uncovered the enormous impact that Rev. Morrell and colleagues and indeed the entire New England Free Will Baptists had upon the outcome of the Civil War as they believed that the practice of one man owning another, and the behavior of breaking up families by selling family members was fundamentally wrong and that the nation had a responsibility to stop the practice, and that society as a whole, had a responsibility to provide education for the freed people. Brooke-Stewart will tell the broad story of Rev. Morell and the Free Will Baptist's association with emancipation. During the presentation, many local residents will find references to their ancestors.
