Restored Stagecoach to
make first journey from Providence to Worcester in 180 years
- Event marks kickoff of third annual footsteps in history
weekend
PROVIDENCE, R.I., WORCESTER, Mass. (September 20,
2007) - Teamster Robert Largess will drive an 1800's style
horse-drawn stagecoach along the Blackstone River Valley
National Corridor from East Providence to Worcester to
commemorate the third annual Footsteps in History Weekend.
His three-day
journey will be the first in about 180 years and aims to
raise public awareness about the Blackstone Valley's rich
history and culture. More

Annual Footsteps in
History program extends cultural celebration
PAWTUCKET - The 3rd Annual Footsteps in History
program, the year's largest showcase of the Blackstone River
Valley's cultural and historical attractions, is extending
its celebration over 24 weekends. The new companion program
called "24 * 24 * 24," features 24 planned events taking
place over 24 weekends in the 24 communities of the
Blackstone River Valley, and will be held in addition to the
regularly scheduled Columbus Day weekend attractions. The
program will run from now until Nov. 24.

Third Annual Footsteps in History Weekend Showcases 500
Years of Cultural and Historical Attractions
BLACKSTONE VALLEY, MA, RI, (July 6, 2007) – The 24
communities of the Blackstone River Valley are opening their
doors to their best cultural and historical attractions, all
on Columbus Day Weekend, October 6-8, during the Third
Annual Footsteps in History Preserve America Program. Last

One-Woman Play Honors
Abolitionist & Women’s Rights Activist, Abbey Kelly Foster
Performance is 3rd of 24 “Footsteps in
History” Weekend Events taking place now through November.
A special one-woman
performance of “Yours for Humanity - Abby” will take place
at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 17 at the Historic Quaker
Meetinghouse in South Uxbridge. This is the third of 24
cultural events taking place every weekend leading up to the
3rd Annual Footsteps in History Columbus Day Weekend
program, the year’s largest showcase of the Blackstone River
Valley’s cultural and historical attractions.

extending its celebration over 24 weekends. The new companion program called “24 *
